“Modern Jive — A Dancer's Guide” is available for download in a number of different formats and configurations, designed for reading (on-line and off-line) and editing.
The multiple page XHTML version has the most detail; the PDF guide doesn't include photographs to maintain a reasonable download sizes; the single page XHTML version doesn't include any optional move notes; the RTF and text files don't include any graphics, or optional move notes.
The following “rich” on-line reading formats are available:
A gzipped tar file containing multiple XHTML files. Also requires the gzipped tar file of images.
A gzipped tar file containing a simplified single XHTML file. Also requires the gzipped tar file of images.
Alternatively the following basic reading formats are available:
A gzipped tar file containing an ASCII text file.
A gzipped tar file containing a zTXT file suitable for installing on Palm handhelds (can be read using the free Weasel document reader).
The following printable format is available:
A gzipped tar file containing a PDF file with coloured hyperlinks to websites suitable for reading on-line, or printing.
The following editable formats are available:
A gzipped tar file containing an RTF file.
A bzip'd tar file containing LaTeX files corresponding to the on-line and off-line PDF's — including BibTeX files, customised style files, etc.
The master files used to generate the text (RTF, LaTeX, XHTML) and illustrations.
A bzip'd tar file containing the “master” XML file (including XSLT files to generate other formats, DTD, etc.).
A bzip'd tar file containing FIG and Lilypond files used to generate the illustrations.
