Chopped Backhander (3 counts ; 6 musical beats) : Brief Description

The Chopped Backhander is most stylish when the man stays in-place and lets the lady travel.

The Chopped Backhander effectively ends on the first half of the step, with a pause on the sixth (musical) beat — doesn't have to be a pause, the leader can jump around to be in front of the follower for a back Charleston.

Timing is: back-rock (right-left) (quick, quick), triple-step (right-left-right) (slow), frog/jump to face (right/left) (quick), pause (quick).

Steps

The man leads the lady to move forwards past his right side and rotate 180o clockwise (with weight on her right leg) — by swapping the lady's right hand from his left hand into his right hand keeping the hands low and pulling her left hand slightly with his right hand to start her rotation — as he jumps around and rotates 180o clockwise (with weight on his right leg).

and

The man leads the lady to pose! — by keeping tension in the handhold.

One option here is to go into a Lindy-Hop frog as the pose.
