“Classic” False Pretzel (5 counts ; 10 musical beats) : Brief Description

The “Classic” False Pretzel is a “high” left-side pass.

Steps

1: (Step back)

The man leads the lady to move backwards — by pushing her right hand slightly with his left hand — as he moves backwards-right to his right of the lady's line, leaving it free for her to step forwards.

2: (Step in)

The man leads the lady to move forwards into his left side — by raising his left hand (and the lady's right hand) from waist height to above head height in an arch and offering his right hand form behind his back.

Those with a comic bent might choose to indicate that the lady has been duped by blowing a raspberry, etc!

3: (Step past)

The man leads the lady to move forwards and turn 180o clockwise (with weight on her right leg) under his left hand (and the lady's right hand) after she fails to take hold of his right hand in her left hand — by bringing his left hand (and the lady's right hand) from the overhead arch to waist height (and quickly withdrawing any signalled right hand from behind his back) — as he moves forwards-left.

4: ()

The man leads the lady to move forwards — by bringing his left hand (and the lady's right hand) forwards and raising his left hand (and the lady's right hand) from waist height to head height — as he moves backwards-right.

5: (Step past)

The man leads the lady to move forwards and turn 180o anticlockwise (with weight on her left leg) under his left hand (and the lady's right hand) — by pulling her right hand slightly with his left hand and lowering his left hand (and the lady's right hand) from head height to waist height — as he moves backwards-left.
