Screwdriver (4 counts ; 8 musical beats) : Brief Description

The Screwdriver is a very quick Sway type move, with an immediate exit — with the lady turning in front of the man.

Steps

1: (Step back)

The man leads the lady to move backwards (stepping back on her right foot in preparation for an anticlockwise rotation) — by pushing her right hand slightly with his right hand — as he moves backwards.

2: ()

The man leads the lady to move forwards and rotate 270o anticlockwise (with weight on her left leg) — by pulling her right hand slightly with his right hand, bringing his right hand (and the lady's right hand) to his right and raising his right hand (and the lady's right hand) from waist height the lady's right shoulder — as he moves forwards and catches the lady's left shoulder in his left hand to block the lady's rotation.

Some ladies “brake” themselves by slapping the back of their left hand against the man's (tensed) stomach. To protect himself the man would keep his left palm at about his stomach height, facing forwards, so that his left hand is ready to catch the lady's braking hand.

3: ()

The man leads the lady to move right and turn 630o clockwise (with weight on her right leg) under his right hand (and the lady's right hand) — by raising his right hand (and the lady's right hand) from waist height to above the lady's head and pushing her left shoulder slightly with his left hand to his left.

4: (Step back)

The man leads the lady to move backwards — by pushing her right hand slightly with his right hand — as he moves backwards.

5: (Finish)
